The North Carolina High School Athletic Association has released its football playoff brackets, and seven Johnston County schools have punched tickets.

Clayton, fresh off its 20-3 victory over Cleveland on Friday, received a No. 3 seed and a bye in the 7A field. Cleveland joins the Comets there as a No 2 seed and will receive a bye as well.

In the 6A bracket, South Johnston is the No. 10 seed and will host Vance County in round one on Friday night. West Johnston is also in the field as a 19 seed, and will visit West Brunswick in te first round.

North Johnston earned a spot in the 4A tournament as the No. 14 seed, and will host fellow Three Rivers 4A member, Washington, in the opening round. The Panthers won the earlier meeting this season, 28-14, on Oct. 3.

Princeton grabbed the No. 11 seed in the 3A field, and will host Beddingfield in round one.

Finally, American Leadership Academy earned its first-ever playoff berth in the 2A bracket. The Patriots earned the No. 15 seed, and will entertain Rosewood on Friday.

Corinth Holders (4-6) narrowly missed out on an 8A berth, as HighSchoolOT projects the Pirates as the first team out of the field, and Smithfield-Selma (1-9) ended its season on Oct. 24.
