The NCHSAA released its dual team wrestling brackets Thursday afternoon, and a few Johnston County schools will be competing for state titles.
First and second-round matches are set for Saturday, February 1, and will be held at the highest seed in the section. Here’s a look at how it breaks down by classification:
1A
No. 15 Neuse Charter vs. No. 2 North East Carolina Prep (winner faces either Eastern Randolph or Chatham Central — matches held at North East Carolina Prep)
2A
No. 7 North Johnston vs. No. 10 Ayden-Grifton (winner faces either Washington or West Craven — matches held at Washington)
3A
No. 8 South Johnston vs. No. 9 Northern Nash (winner faces either Union Pines or Westover — matches held at Union Pines)
4A
No. 5 Corinth Holders vs. No. 12 Panther Creek (winner faces either Lumberton or Athens Drive — matches held at Lumberton)
No. 15 Cleveland vs. No. 2 Hoke County (winner faces either Millbrook or Jordan — matches held at Hoke County)
