We’ve reached the conference portion of the schedule in the 2024 volleyball season, so this feels like a good time to take a look around at our area teams and how they’re faring:

Greater Neuse River 4A

A non-league setback against Rose is the only blemish on Cleveland’s ledger this season, and that means the Rams are spotless in Greater Neuse River 4A play as well.

Corinth Holders and Clayton are in a three-way tie with Garner for second, 1.5 games back. Cleveland and Clayton meet on Tuesday (Sept. 17) while Corinth Holders and Garner square off a few miles away.

Quad County 3A

South Johnston and West Johnston are leading the pack near the midway point of the Quad County 3A schedule.

The two rivals face off on Tuesday at 5 p.m.

Neuse 6

North Johnston is holding a narrow lead in the Neuse 6 over Goldsboro and Princeton, who are just a half-game back.

North and Goldsboro return to league play Tuesday, while Princeton hosts Spring Creek.

Carolina 1A

Neuse Charter is tied with Rosewood atop the Carolina 1A standings, and wouldn’t you know it, they meet on Tuesday in Wayne County.

Patriots near .500

American Leadership Academy, which is playing this season as a NCHSAA independent, is 4-5 on the season.
