It’s been a busy few days for area volleyball teams. Let’s jump in:

1A

Neuse Charter downed Chatham Charter, 25-11, 25-15 and 25-12, to reach round two of the 1A playoffs. The Knights will host North Moore Tuesday at 6 p.m.

2A

Princeton swept past Louisburg, 3-0, and will host South Granville Tuesday at 6 p.m.

3A

West Johnston dropped a nip-and-tuck affair with Person County, 25-19, 19-25, 25-22 and 25-19. Meanwhile, in an all-Quad County 3A clash, South Johnston edged C.B. Aycock, 25-17, 26-24, 19-25, 22-25 and 15-9. The Trojans will visit West Carteret Tuesday at 5 p.m.

4A

Cleveland reached round two with a 3-2 win at Holly Springs and will play at No. 1 seed Middle Creek Tuesday at 6 p.m.

Clayton breezed past Lumberton, 3-0, and will take on Cardinal Gibbons at home Tuesday night.

American Leadership Academy fell in the semifinal round to Winston-Salem Christian on Thursday night.
