We had the best men’s team in the area picking up a playoff win, and the smallest classification women’s team in the county joining them in the win column Tuesday night.

Clayton cut down Pinecrest, 89-48, while Neuse Charter fought off East Columbus, 56-51, to reach the second round of the NCHSAA Basketball playoffs.

The rest of Johnston County didn’t fare quite as well, including the Cleveland men, who fell by just two points against Overhills.
