No. 18 Princeton 7, No. 15 Goldsboro 6 — Madison Mitchell, Macy Boone and Kaylee Mitchell each drove in a run in support of Chloe Herring’s complete-game effort in the circle to power Princeton (7-12) past Swine Valley rival Goldsboro.

No. 22 Anson 7, No. 11 North Johnston 6 — A 5-0 first-inning deficit proved to be too much for North Johnston to overcome as Anson edged a 7-6 contest on Tuesday in Kenly.

No. 9 South Johnston 16, No. 24 Felton Grove 1 — Abby Stewart, Emsley Holloman and Loryn Riddick all had 2 RBI as the Trojans (12-8) rolled through Felton Grove on Tuesday.

No. 12 West Johnston 14, No. 21 Terry Sanford 0 (5 innings) — The Wildcats mercy ruled their way into the second round on Tuesday.
