JoCo Sports Soccer Report: Tuesday, Sept. 23

You would think that someone who enjoys the beautiful game as much as I do would post about it here a bit more often.

This isn’t my only gig, you know.

Anyway, let’s see where we are:

Diamond Nine 1A/2A/3A

This is a rough neighborhood for Neuse Charter, as the top of this league is packed with talented sides.

quad county 2A/3A/4A

Not to spoil the rest of the season or anything, but Wake Prep is the class of this conference. Roanoke Rapids, who fell to the Guardians, 3-2, could still be a factor, though.

Swine valley 2A/3A

Princeton had a fast start to the campaign in non-conference play, but an overtime loss to Midway and a setback against Wallace-Rose Hill have stalled its momentum.

This could be a fun race, though. Lots of parity here.

three rivers 4A

Speaking of parity, we have some of that in the Three Rivers 4A. The top of this league looks pretty strong, and it could wind up being a three-horse race.

carolina pines 6A

A fun race is developing over in the Carolina Pines 6A as Harnett Central, Southern Lee and West Johnston jockey for positioning behind frontrunning Lee County.

greater neuse river 7A

Clayton and Garner are off to perfect starts in the GNR 7A, but Fuquay-Varina, Cleveland and Cleveland may still have a say in who wins this league.

cap 8A

Not a lot of data here yet, but plenty of good squads hanging out in this 8A league.
