It’s a busy time in the prep sports world, and there’s a bunch to cover today:
Flag football
We had a few local teams competing in the flag football playoffs. Information is spotty (it’s either a sport or it’s not, NCHSAA), but our old friend Nick Stevens has the latest, including one local school that’s still alive:
men’s soccer
Clayton’s deep run in the 7A playoffs came to an end with a 5-3 loss at Chapel Hill on Thursday. Tavalis Parker scored a pair of goals while Nicholas Tomaz-Klava added another for the Comets, who finish the season at 18-4-1.
football
Round two of the playoffs is tonight, and we’ve got Clayton and Cleveland at home while North Johnston, South Johnston and Princeton will all be on the road.
