JoCo Sports Girls’ Soccer roundup: April 16

Like the other prep sports seasons, girls’ soccer has reached the halfway point in the race for conference championships.

Let’s see where we are:

Greater Neuse River 4A

Willow Spring has been the class of the Greater Neuse River 4A this season, and the Storm has a game lead over Fuquay-Varina. Cleveland and Corinth Holders are battling it out for third.

Quad County 3A

The Wilson schools are showing the way in the Quad County 3A so far, but West Johnston is very close behind.

Neuse 6

The Neuse 6 couldn’t be much tighter, with a game separating four schools.

Carolina 1A

Hobbton is still unbeaten in Carolina 1A play, but Neuse Charter is nipping on its heels. That makes today’s match kind of important.

American Leadership Academy is playing its last season before joining the NCHSAA next season. The Patriots are 4-8, and visit Sallie Howard today at 4.
