David Jarman threw for 125 yards and two scores for Corinth Holders (4-3, 2-2), which hosts Leesville Road this week.
South Johnston 35, Lee County 14 — Johnston County prep reporting legend D. Clay Best was on hand for South’s big win at home over Lee County, and filed this report for HighSchool OT.
The Trojans (4-3, 2-2 Carolina Pines 6A) got 227 passing yards and four scores from Tyler Williams and they reeled off 35 straight points after falling behind 7-0 in the game’s opening moments.
South visits Western Harnett this week in conference play.
West Johnston 14, Harnett Central 6 — West Johnston got an interception return for a score from Gavin Bullock in the first half, and a fumble return for a score in the fourth quarter from Tanner Roof to provide all the points it would need in a narrow win over Harnett Central.
MaxPreps lists Bullock with 20 tackles, including eight for loss, and Roof with another 15 (7 TFL) for the Wildcats (3-4, 2-2), who visit Southern Lee on Friday.
West Craven 52, North Johnston 16 — North Johnston ventured to Vanceboro a little banged up, and the Panthers came home on the wrong end of this Three Rivers 4A contest.
Tyrece Hicks rushed for 172 yards and two scores for North (4-4, 1-3), which has a much-needed bye week.
Princeton 61, Spring Creek 0 — Teo McPhatter rushed for 163 yards and four touchdowns for the Bulldogs, who raced past winless Spring Creek in Swine Valley 2A/3A action.
Princeton (4-3, 1-2) visits Goldsboro this week.
Louisburg 65, American Leadership Academy 32 — Anthony Jimenez rushed 32 times for 304 yards and three scores as American Leadership Academy fell on the road at unbeaten Louisburg.
The Patriots (4-4, 0-3) will have a bye week this week.
