North Johnston was barely on the right side of the 2A East Playoff bubble while West Johnston was marginally on the wrong side of the 3A cutoff line as the NCHSAA released its football playoff brackets today.

West Johnston had a higher RPI rating than several teams in the 3A field, but because it finished behind East Wake in the Quad County 3A, it can’t jump them in the line for at-large postseason bids – and the Warriors at 3-7 were pretty far down the pecking order.
