With 49 days left before the season opener at home against Sanderson, Corinth Holders has chosen its next football coach.

Carl Smith Jr., most recently at Person High School in Roxboro, is the new head coach. He replaces Martin Samek, who finished 2-8 in his lone season in Wendell.

Smith led the Rockets to a 5-6 mark and a playoff appearance last fall, and had a 12-19 overall mark there. In 2019 and 2020 (or spring 2021, thanks to COVID), he was the head coach at Beddingfield and compiled a 13-7 overall record.
