WAKE FOREST — Clayton got its 2023 volleyball season off to a winning start Monday with a 3-0 over Wake Forest, 25-20, 26-24 and 25-21.

Hailey Evans led the way with 11 kills, Haley Lee added seven digs and Maddy Handy had three service aces.

The Comets (1-0) will be back in action Wednesday at home against West Johnston.
