Cleveland has a new head football coach.
The Rams have tabbed Codi Vick as their new head coach, the school announced on social media on Wednesday.
“I am honored to be named the Head Football Coach at Cleveland High School. I’m beyond grateful to God for opening this door and guiding this journey. I’m excited to join an elite program and a strong community built on pride, tradition and hard work,” Vick posted on his Instagram page.
Vick takes over for Scott Riley, who stepped down from the job earlier this year after 12 seasons as head coach at Cleveland. Riley posted a record of 130-27 in his tenure, and is now the new head coach at Swain County.
Most recently, Vick served as an assistant for Kell High School in Marietta, Ga., coaching the defense for Bobby May. The Longhorns were 11-3 this past season. He has also worked as an assistant at Westlake (Ga.), St Lucie (Fla.) West Centennial and Florida Atlantic.
