Tuesday marked the continuation of a couple of streaks for the Cleveland High baseball team.

The Rams toppled Midway, 7-4, in the championship game of the Johnston County Easter Invitational Tuesday night at South Johnston to win their third straight tournament title and their 11th consecutive game in the event dating back to a first-round loss to Bunn in 2019.

It was also the fourth straight win over a five-day period for Jamie Lee’s squad, which will return to action at home against Corinth Holders on April 9.

“The championship game was a hard-fought game from both teams,” he said. “Timely hitting was the key to scoring our runs and starting pitcher Jack Dalton made big pitches on the mound when he needed to.”

Dalton got the win, working 4.2 innings while allowing one earned run on a hit and striking out four.

Will Hicks provided much of the run support, homering twice and driving in three. Brooks Moore added an RBI and two hits while Zalin Ingram added a two-run double for the Rams (11-4)
